The Giveback Foundation, Inc. Supports the Nicole Podkowa Patient and Caregiver Fund
Kellie Faulkner and her husband, Wes, have always been passionate about giving back to the community, it’s one of the main reasons that they started a non-profit organization to help others called The Giveback Foundation, Inc.
Recently, their journey of giving took a personal turn when Kellie was diagnosed with breast cancer. But, despite her own diagnosis, Kellie saw it as another opportunity to help those who may be in a similar situation.
As a patient at the Southcoast Health Cancer Center, she became familiar with the Nicole Podkowa Patient and Caregiver Fund, which provides much-needed financial assistance for Southcoast Health cancer patients for utilities, food, housing, transportation, cancer-related supplies, and other necessities while they are undergoing treatment.
Wanting to help support this cause, Kellie and Wes decided to organize a Fourth of July themed fundraiser earlier this summer. In just four weeks, they rallied friends, family and community members together for a successful fundraising event that raised an inspiring $10,117 dollars.
“We wanted to keep the donation local since it was being supported by the local community,” Wes said.
“I’m very fortunate,” Kellie added. “I’ve had my family, friends and care team by my side. Not everyone has that, and I wanted to make sure others facing breast cancer could get great support too.”
We are grateful for the Faulkner family and The Giveback Foundation for their great support and generous donation. Their contribution to the Nicole Podkowa Patient and Caregiver Fund will make a difference in the lives of countless others.
