Elizabeth Roche Smith, MD, has joined Southcoast Health as the President of Southcoast Physicians Group (SPG).

Dr. Smith is a seasoned physician executive with over 20 years’ experience as a leader in multispecialty groups, practice management, managed care and quality improvement.

Most recently, Dr. Smith served as Vice President, Medical Operation, for the Allina Health Group, Primary Care Service Line in Minneapolis, MN. She also served as Chief Medical Officer at Core Physicians in Exeter, NH, and at Texas Children’s Pediatric Associates in Houston, TX. Previously, Dr. Smith served as Medical Director at Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Concord, NH.

Dr. Smith is a practicing pediatrician and will continue to devote a portion of her time to active practice. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Yale University, and graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric internship and residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and earned a Master of Medical Management from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
