Discover the Best Ways You Can Give Back to the Community Amid COVID-19
Southcoast Health is looking to connect volunteers to places where help is needed. The COVID-19 crisis presses on, necessitating aid and cooperation across several fronts. The United Way of Greater Fall River, United Way of Greater New Bedford, and the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts are working together to provide an organized relief effort for businesses and individuals impacted by COVID-19.
Many need your help!
Today, Volunteer Southcoast, a program of United Way of Greater New Bedford, is working with local organizations to help match volunteers where they are needed most. United Way serves all organizations seeking volunteers for community assistance. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer, please visit Volunteer Southcoast.
In the giving spirit, we have received many generous offers for food donations to our frontline staff. Our Southcoast Health employees appreciate all individuals and businesses, making these offers. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we have issued a restricted visitation policy, limiting our ability to accept food donations. In turn, we ask that all food donations be delivered to the United Way’s Hunger Commission, serving the South Coast region. Southcoast Health appreciates your understanding.

“Never before has your support been more meaningful and impactful. Moments like this bring the true definition of ‘community’ to life. We are here for you, and we are so fortunate that you are here for us.” – Keith Hovan, President & CEO
Each year, volunteers of all ages donate hours of service to Southcoast Health’s three hospitals, as well as Southcoast VNA. Our volunteers in Fall River, New Bedford, Wareham, and Fairhaven, are an essential and appreciated part of the Southcoast team. There are a variety of ways to serve, and volunteering at your local hospital can be a rewarding and fun experience.
