Minimally invasive procedures for reflux disease

LINX is a solution to reduce dependence on medication and improve quality of life for GERD sufferers. LINX is a small, quarter-sized flexible ring of magnets that are placed around the esophagus just above the stomach to prevent reflux.

Up to 1 in 5 U.S. adults suffer from GERD. Millions of patients rely on medications to treat the disease. Medication options are designed to control or suppress acid production in the stomach. They do not address the mechanical cause of GERD, a weak sphincter muscle. Approximately 40-percent of sufferers continue to suffer symptoms while taking medications for GERD.

GERD can lead to serious complications. If left untreated it can cause pre-cancerous changes called Barrett’s esophagus.
