The Peripheral Artery Disease Supervised Exercise Program at Southcoast Health is a structured exercise and education program for individuals with intermittent claudication due to peripheral artery disease. Here is what you can expect:
- Individualized exercise program within a group setting and directed by a multidisciplinary team of health professionals
- Heart rate, blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring during exercise session
- Information on risk factor modification to decrease progression of your disease and risk for heart attack or stroke (i.e., diet, exercise, smoking cessation, diabetes management, and foot care)
- Classes are 45 – 60 minutes and held throughout the day on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
- Duration of program is 12 weeks
