This program provides patients the opportunity to recognize and honor the staff and caregivers who played a special role in your or a loved one’s healthcare.

For many years, Dr. Schwartz has been a reliable constant in Barbara’s life, offering care and support to both her and her family. Over time he has become more than just a trusted physician; he has become someone Barbara can rely on and has guided her through some of the most challenging times in her life.

Eight years ago, when Barbara lost her son, she felt as though her world had crumbled and the grief was overwhelming. She didn’t know how to move forward, but Dr. Schwartz was there for her. He offered Barbara and her family not only professional guidance but a compassionate ear.

“Dr. Schwartz is an incredible doctor. He spent time sharing stories with me about the effects of loss and helped me understand my feelings better,” Barbara said. “Many people tried to encourage me telling me ‘You’ll feel better in time,’ but he understood. It’s a lifetime loss.”

After the loss of her son, Barbara maintained her role as caregiver for her husband, who was also one of Dr. Schwartz’s patients. Dr. Schwartz was a key figure in the high-quality care he received, and when the time came, he stepped in to collaborate with hospice care.

“I am so thankful that Dr. Schwartz took the extra steps to assure my husband was receiving the best care possible. He even took hospital calls about his care after hours many times,” said Barbara. “He reminds me of my childhood doctor at the time house calls existed, and the care felt more personal.”

Later, when her husband passed away, Dr. Schwartz was there once again to provide the support Barbara needed. “I always look forward to my visits. I hope life is as good to him as he has been to so many lives,” she said.
