About Ye Tun

Dr. Tun earned his graduate degree from the Institute of Medicine 1, Yangon, Myanmar.

He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center before embarking on a fellowship in Nephrology at Boston University/Boston Medical Center. He has also worked as an Internist at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

Dr. Tun is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, American Medical Association and the Massachusetts Medical Society.

He is fluent in Burmese and enjoys playing soccer, music and traveling.

Okay, every time I see Dr. Tun, he always gives me, you know, he goes over all my lab tests, he goes over my diagnoses about my kidneys. He's very, very good, very thorough, and he is very patient. And he always asks if I have any questions. I would refer him to anybody that would like to see a nephrology doctor. He is excellent. Thank you.

Dr. Tun is a great doctor. He takes the time to listen and also explain everything while actually turning the screen around and showing you the details and history. Dr Tun was professional and personable. I was very impressed with the office visit. He explained my numbers in regards to my lipid/ chart. He explained things in an easy to understand way. He alleviated my concerns. Gave suggestions to me for ways to improve my eating habits and the importance of hydration. Didn't sugarcoat things. My numbers won't improve by medication but by my effort into changing some bad habits I have when it comes to sugar and hydration. I left there feeling positive about what I need to do and knowing that he will continue to monitor my situation. I will highly recommend him to family and friends in need of a kidney specialist.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
