About Ronald Schwartz

He received his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at the U.S. Naval Hospital in St. Albans, N.Y., where he was chief resident.

For more than 25 years, Dr. Schwartz served as a clinical instructor and assistant professor at Alpert Medical School at Brown University in Providence, R.I., and served as preceptor for third- and fourth-year medical students in community health. He received the Distinguished Teacher Award at the university.

Dr. Schwartz is board certified in internal medicine with added qualifications in geriatric medicine.

He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association and the Massachusetts Medical Society.

    I thought the staff was excellent. Always professional, courteous, and detailed. I have so much Love, Respect, and admiration for Dr. Schwartz, he's an amazing doctor to not only me but my entire family. In my opinion Dr.Schwartz is one of the greatest doctors to ever practice medicine, I am so grateful for everything he has done not only for me but for both my Mother and Father.

    Dr. Schwartz was very thorough. He examined me. We discussed how I was feeling. He gave me some medication. He follows up by making certain that I know what the results are of my blood tests and making certain that I'm feeling well and just in general is very, very thorough in the office. I so appreciate having him as my physician. The rest of the staff are wonderful and supportive as well. I would say that South Coast is doing a great job. I would recommend Dr. Schwartz to anybody as well as your facility because I think you're doing a fabulous job. I want you to know that even some of my neighbors have talked about how pleased they are with South Coast. Kudos to you all. Thank you. Bye-bye.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
