About Robert Vazquez

Dr. Vazquez earned a medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in general cardiovascular disease at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He served there as the Chief Cardiology Fellow from 2018 to 2019 and received the Resident Student Teaching Award in 2016.

Previously, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J.

Dr. Vazquez is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He has a special interest in non-invasive cardiac imaging and has additional board certifications in Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CT).

He is a member of the American Cardiology Society, the American Heart Association and the American College of Physicians

Hello, I have two points to make. First of all, I made a mistake in answering one of the early questions in the survey that asked if I was seen in a timely manner. I mistakenly pressed one for the answer no, which is incorrect. I was seen extremely promptly by the nurse and the provider. So please make a correction there. The nurse, [Name], and the doctor, Dr. Vazquez, could not have been nicer. They listened very attentively to my needs and I was very satisfied, highly satisfied with the visit overall. Dr. Vasquez is the ultimate professional. I was extremely pleased to finally get an appointment with him. He explained everything to me and we had an incredible conversation, a real dialogue, and I am most impressed with his patience, his compassion, and his confidence. He is a really smart man and I am totally trusting of his judgment and the decisions and the plan that we've worked on. My only regret is I didn't get in to see him sooner. I understand the system and he was very busy, but I think it was at least a four-month wait before I could get in to see him. So I really appreciate that another doctor intervened and that I was able to see him sooner.

He is a very well educated man... I am so impressed with him and the way explained a procedure to my mother... He knew there was something else going on besides the aortic valve and found she a closed artery in her heart a stent was put in.. I believed because of him he saved her life.. Dr. Vazquez has always cared about my health. In the medical world I have suffered for years due to my gender or in a belief that I was faking my symptoms for attention. I wish he had been the first physician I had ever seen. In a year he has given me answers, and appropriate diagnosis. I'm not 100% yet but he gives me hope that I will be somewhat alright eventually. I was greeted very nicely. I did not wait more than a few minutes. The nurse that brought me in was extremely friendly, answered my questions and prepared me for what the apartment was all about, reviewed my history and my prescriptions. And then Dr. Vazquez came in and greeted me and asked questions and filled me in on everything that was going on, went over my test results, and I was very pleased. It was a very pleasant experience.

DrVazquez put me at ease the second he walked into the exam room getting with the point that my condition was not that bad. he explained my condition in easy to understand terms and was aware that i have sleep apnea which can be a partial cause. He asked if I was using cpap and how I was getting long with it. He explained there was no restrictions on activity and the treatment plan coming up. The staff scheduled me for future tests and notified me of the appointments within hours. You need to keep him here..... great first impression.

Dr. Vazquez is an excellent cardiologist. He is always up to date with all my care. Routine appointments are hard to procure, they are often changed by southcoast because he has a hospital day come up. That causes an appointment cancellation for me and being pushed out another two months. Southcoast needs more doctors. You are not a business you are a healthcare facility!!!!

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
