Dr. DaSilva earned her medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Rochester, NY. She then completed a surgical residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY, and after a few years of practice, a breast surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. DaSilva decided to pursue a career in medicine when her grandfather battled lung cancer while she was in high school. During this ordeal, her family encountered many exceptional healthcare professionals who, to this day, inspire her to be a meticulous, caring and knowledgeable physician. Dr. DaSilva decided to specialize in breast surgery due to the opportunity to offer compassionate and expert care to patients undergoing life-changing medical conditions, maximizing oncological outcomes and cosmesis.
Dr. DaSilva’s philosophy of care is to listen fully to her patients, advocate vigorously for patient care and to provide individualized patient-centered treatment, while utilizing innovative surgical techniques.
In her free time, Dr. DaSilva enjoys studio arts, such as charcoal, India ink, wash and acrylics, and is an avid organic vegetable gardener.
