Matthew J. DaCosta, PA-C earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. He then went on to obtain his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. He has also been a National Health Services Corps (NHSC) scholar.
His philosophy of care is centered on empathy, kindness, clear communication, and empowerment through knowledge. Matthew’s approach to practicing medicine includes respect and active listening, and he always considers the patient’s personal situation and unique needs regarding their health.
He believes in educating his patients about the most current and evidence-based care in terms that they can understand. In doing so he strives to provide them with the knowledge and practices they need to best care for themselves.
As a New Bedford native, Matthew finds it a great privilege to return to the South Coast and give back to the community that he’s always called home. When not at work he enjoys playing sports, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
