About Mark Ringiewicz

A board certified family medicine specialist, Dr. Ringiewicz is medical director and staff physician of the Swansea Family Practice Group in Swansea. He is on the active medical staff of Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he has held several leadership positions including chairman of the Department of Family Practice.

Dr. Ringiewicz received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed his residency in family medicine at Memorial Hospital, a teaching affiliate of Brown University Medical School. He is clinical assistant professor of Family Medicine at Brown Medical School.

Dr. Ringiewicz is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Massachusetts Medical Society and Physicians for Social Responsibility.

Dr. Ringiewicz is the school physician for the town of Swansea.

The people in this office are wonderful.. The problem is there are way to many patients and my appointments are canceled All The Time!! It's also very hard to get an appointment.. I saw a provider I didn't know and he didn't know me today.. I can't get an appointment with my GP until January for a physical! Crazy!!

Usually see [Name] [Name] She was unavailable so I saw this provider. He glanced at my chart, barely listened to my concerns cut me off multiple times, never physically examined me although my notes on my chart stated he did. Was in a rush didn't care to listen to my history and told me to lose weight. Had he looked at my chart he would have already seen I've lost 40 pounds. Walked out of the office in tears.

The receptionist I talked to was amazing and informative and very helpful making sure I was seen as soon as perceivably possible.The nurse who called me, was excellent! We got disconnected, and she called me back! She listened well to my frustrations of my sickness. She repeated back to me what I had said validation. I appreciated getting a fairly timely appointment. Then, when it was clear that the weather would cause a problem for this appointment, the office called me and fit me in to the following day's schedule. I really appreciated that as well. Addressing a patient's requests or concerns in a timely manner is paramount to me as I don't contact my PCP unless it is absolutely necessary.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
