About Kathleen Zeller

Dr. Zeller is an internal medicine physician at Linden Tree Family Health Center in Portsmouth, R.I.

Dr. Zeller received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York.

She completed her internship in internal medicine at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., and her residency in internal medicine from the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Her clinical interests include preventive health and wellness, type 2 diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure), thyroid disease, hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol), depression and anxiety.

She is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Zeller always gives the time needed to understand patients' needs as well as adjust her answers to a level I can understand (in my case a rather educated level). I am always left with the feeling of time well spent, plan in place, and that she listened to me. Well done, indeed.As for improvements--this consult was delayed, but I was given warning by the nurse. Such delays are not the norm, however. I appreciate the heads-up and simply used the time to meditate. I never felt rushed during the consult so never got the feeling she was attempting to make up time. Rather, she possibly went without lunch :-)Good job by all.

Dr Zellar has always been very thorough with my exams. Asks me a lot of questions. Listens to me. Talks about what I need to do to be healthier. Prescribes medications when needed. Monitors me on a regular basis with visits and blood work. Makes adjustments when needed. Overall she has been on top of my health for as long as I've seen her which has been about 10 years. And I want to continue keeping her as my primary care physician.

I think Dr. Zeller is a dying breed of doctor, as she is caring, and gets right to the point - which I love in a doctor. I like Dr Zeller very much. The current state of health care has made it impossible for any physician to completely focus on a patient when computer information is difficult to find. They have to spend alot of their time looking at the computer. I do not fault them. I fault the medical industry.

Dr Zeller was very gracious and attentive towards me during a hospitalization to ensure we constructed a supportive plan for my aftercare and she also made space to follow up on questions I had about chronic health concerns and refill prescriptions. Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
