Jean Claude Petit Me, D.O earned his medical degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. He then served in the U.S Army Medical Corps as a General Medical Officer. In this role, he was the officer in charge of the Camp Red Cloud Clinic in Uijeongbu, South Korea, and was awarded both the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal in 2014. After returning to the US, Jean Claude completed his General Surgery Residency at Geisinger Northeast, and Surgical Critical Care fellowship at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, PA.
Dr. Petit Me, is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma. His philosophy of care is to empower patients and families by providing patient-centered care. As a trauma surgeon, he is often meeting patients for the first time during their illnesses. In these situations, he believes it is essential to develop trust with the patients, as well as use a holistic medical approach to provide the best outcome for healing and recovery.
Outside of work, Jean Claude Petit Me enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, watching movies, and playing basketball. Additionally, he has always been interested in participating in medical missions. Originally from Haiti, it is one of his goals to volunteer his time as a surgeon there in the future.
