About Irina Merport

Dr. Merport received her medical degree from the Tashkent Medical Institute in the former Soviet Union, where she also completed a residency in internal medicine and was an instructor in internal medicine and physical diagnosis. She later completed a second residency in internal medicine at North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Mass.

Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Merport is a member of the American Medical Association, the Massachusetts Medical Society and the American College of Physicians.

Well, the office was wonderful. The people at the front desk are always wonderful. I've been going there for probably 30 years. The person who admitted me, his name is [Name] he was very, very nice and thorough. And then Dr. Merport and the discharge person. Dr. Merport has been taking care of me and previously my mother for many years. She's wonderful, knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful, and really professional. I trust her implicitly. I had a great experience at Dr. Merport, very conscientious and certainly looking out for my health, which I appreciate. When I did check in and somehow the system was showing that I was in for a Medicare evaluation and I don't have Medicare. So there was some confusion there and I'm not sure where that came from and I don't think it was Dr. Merport's staff, but it was your system had some sort of a glitch in it. So just caught my attention. Thank you.

If the provider is in a meeting, it would be a good idea if someone from staff could come and tell the patient waiting in the small, cold waiting room, the reason for the long wait. And by doing that, it would be a good idea to check on the patient to be sure the patient is ok. - The provider was very kind and did apologize for the wait.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
