About Himanshu Verma

Dr. Himanshu Verma graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tufts University with a B.A. degree in Economics. He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston. Dr. Verma completed internal medicine internship and residency at Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York and then completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass. He then pursued additional training with an advanced endoscopy fellowship at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Dr. Verma is trained in therapeutic endoscopy including endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), luminal stenting and endoscopic mucosal resection. His areas of clinical interest include pancreaticobiliary disease as well as general gastroenterology.

He is board certified in internal medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Verma enjoys playing tennis, snowboarding, surfing, running and yoga.

I have full trust in my provider. He takes the time to answer my questions. And always ask how I'm doing and honestly really seems to care. I have no complaints . The nurses are informative if I'm not well on how to fix my issues and calls back to check on me. I feel well cared for and don't feel like just a number or a nuisance. I absolutely would be devastated if he leaves that office. It's taken me 25 yrs to fund exactly a dr who knows and understands my health and really cares. Thank you for this place of security and making me top priority .thank you

This was my first time at this facility, I was not feeling well and a bit overwhelmed by the size and services provided there, the receptionist must of seen the confused look on my face as I tried to figure out where I go and came right over to help me, she sent me to the correct floor. After my appointment I was to go to the lab for blood work. The waiting area was crowed and there was a line to sign in. I started to sign in and decided not to and started to walk out, she came up to me and asked if I was alright I said no I just want to go home and lie down, she said I should really get my blood work done now and there were 5 techs in the lab so it shouldn't be to long a wait, she walked me back to the kiosk and I signed in. She said I'll be back to check on you in 5 minutes if your not taken in yet we'll get you in…I only waited 3 minutes, kudos to her for taken the time to show compassion

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
