About G. Uma Harinarayanan

Dr. Hari earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Hari is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her clinical interests are high risk obstetrics, laparoscopic surgery, lactation and contraception. Dr. Hari is versed in medical Spanish.

    Dr. Hari is an amazing Dr. The only concern that we (me and my daughter) have is access to her. If you call the office support for her, they are extremely difficult to work with. It's been my experience that all of our best and favorite Southcoast drs have difficulty with office support upholding their standards.

    Felt somewhat rushed. My questions were definitely answered (and answered well), but there was little proactive advice or education about things I didn't know about (since I am a first time mom). Sometimes I feel like I don't know enough to know what questions to ask, so would be helpful if the provider shared more knowledge proactively.

    I had an appointment for 10 I wasn't seen until 10:40 while people came in for 10:30 appointments and were all called first . Other than the long wait with my new born in the waiting room they always treat me with respect and care about my medical needs I will still give them a 10 because no other place has doctors like they do here ! I just wish I wasn't waiting for 40 mins

Southcoast Health physician profiles now feature star ratings.  Below, you’ll find frequently asked questions about our process for calculating the ratings.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
