About Douglas Garland
Douglas Garland, PA-C, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Amherst, MA. He developed his expertise in the medical field when he completed a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He has nearly 30 years of experience as a physician assistant, specializing in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
Douglas’s personal philosophy of care is to treat all of his patients as he would wish to be treated. By paying close attention to his patients’ medical history and needs, he cares for them efficiently and effectively. Douglas makes sure to focus his care on the whole person with empathy and compassion.
Douglas’s commitment to community has always been evident. Before his time as a physician’s assistant, he served in the Peace Corps on an outer island in Fiji. He also volunteers annually at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a camp for children with major medical issues.
Outside of work, Douglas enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis and ice hockey, sailing, fishing, and playing the guitar.
