About Didi Theva

Dr. Theva earned her medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, MA. She then completed an internship in General Surgery and residency in Urology at Boston Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Incontinence, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Urology at the Bladder Health & Reconstructive Urology Institute in Miramar, FL.

Dr. Theva has clinical interests in general urology, urinary incontinence, reconstructive urology, female pelvic medicine and sexual dysfunction. Her goal is to treat urologic issues that affect quality of life and provide robust, evidence-based and personalized urologic care to the community of Southcoast.

Dr. Theva has a passion for global medicine and recently volunteered with surgeons at Nazareth Hospital in Kenya with hopes to continue additional mission work in the near future.

Outside of work, Dr. Theva enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and going to the beach.

Dr. Teeva was very efficient and very kind. I don't have the actual words to describe her. She's amazing. So she has that healing touch and that's the reason I came all the way from New Jersey to Massachusetts. It's all because of her. There's something very nice about her. I had a fantastic, professional, very comforting experience for something that would have been a pretty uncomfortable procedure normally. I was nervous but just talking to the providers definitely calmed me down. They were really good. They educated me a lot. They were walking me through it step by step. They respected when I asked to use headphones. They always listened to my feedback and how I was feeling and did lots of check-ins while the procedure was taking place. I had no worries when I was with them just because of how good their bedside manner was. I would hopefully never have to get another vasectomy but if I did I would want the same staff, the same doctors, and the same care team. Thank you for everything. I appreciate it.

Dr. Theva is very good. This was my first visit with her. She explained everything thoroughly. The only thing I have an issue with is her assistant. Dr Theva and I were discussing a part of the procedure and the assistant barged right in the room, rudely and with no apology, interrupting the conversation to the point I lost track of what Dr. Theva was describing to me. I couldn't get over it! It was unfortunate, as I felt like the time Dr. Theva was taking to explain and make me comfortable with the procedure was gone. I felt rushed by the assistant after that.

Maybe be more receptive. I felt as though the doctor was detached and it could be because it was a Friday and it was late and my appointment, I was taken late, but it took me more time to sit there, which I don't mind, but other... someone who had come after me got to go in and no one said anything to me, just, you know, they glanced at me and said, you know, they glanced at me, but no one had any concerns until I had to go to the window and just inquire politely if I had been forgotten about, but it was only... I felt rushed. It was a shorter time inside the office than it was in the waiting room and again, it was a Friday and it was late and I can understand that, but there was a detachment. Initial visit for my elderly mom. She has significant medical issues requiring surgery. Office was very accommodating when my car broke down and helped me reschedule immediately. Although I was seen later than my scheduled appointment time, the very first thing Dr. Theva said when she came into the exam room was "thank you for waiting". I was already anxious about the procedure, with waiting a while past my appointment time making it worse, but that immediately put me at ease. Dr. Theva took the time to talk to me, ask me how I had been feeling and explained the procedure to me. I am grateful that I was able to have surgery with her and that I will continue to see her in follow up. Thank you, Dr. Theva and team. I'd like to also recognize the woman at the check out desk (I'm sorry I never caught her name) but at one of my recent appointments when I was in a lot of pain, she waited on the phone for a long time and advocated for me to get me added on to the OR schedule. She offered me tissues when I was crying and I just really felt like she cared about me as more than just another patient. Thank you.

I had a 10 am appt and didnt get called into see the dr until 11 30 am after 20 mins I approached the receptionist and was told she was running late and would be next but it was 50 mins later. And it was a rushed appt with the dr. Having a digital board indicating drs schedule and who was next would have been helpful. Because everyone who came in after me all went into the dr office before me.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
