Chelsea Manzone earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. Furthering her education, she attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences where she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner).
Chelsea has always been passionate about nursing and the constant learning and problem solving inherent in medicine drew her to advance her degree and take on a provider role. While the underlying science remains constant, she feels that the ever-emerging treatments and recommendations keeps it dynamic.
Her personal philosophy of care centers on treating each patient as a distinct individual, tailoring interventions to meet their specific needs. In providing patient-centered care, she approaches individuals holistically, considering not only their medical needs but also their mental well-being and accessibility to care. Chelsea has always been naturally inclined to show empathy and care, and expressing a maternal instinct.
As a provider, she aims to focus on preventative medicine by prioritizing early intervention through methods such as adjusting diets, promoting exercise, offering mental health counseling and recommending annual screenings. By proactively identifying areas in need of attention, she can help her patients make changes to prevent future issues.
Joining Southcoast Health at the start of her nursing career has been a truly fulfilling experience for her. The intimate community setting is something she deeply appreciates. She also finds it immensely gratifying to see the organization expand, ensuring accessibility and specialized care for the community.
When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, being outdoors on the water and staying active.
