  • The provider that I saw listened really carefully to the recent health history that I told her that I've been going through. And she was really attentive with, in the appointment and adjusted her treatment, based on the recent health history I had given her to make sure that I would stay safe, which I really appreciated. And also the procedure that she did, she did really well, really skilled, very gently and effectively. And even without the anesthetic medicine that she didn't feel was safe to use, and I agree, it was super comfortable for me. I was nervous going in, and everything went really great. So I just want to give her the best feedback possible. All right. Thank you.

  • While most of my visit was great, I was a bit put off when I arrived at the check-in desk and the person sitting there doing an organizing task ignored me for a minute until her task was completed. I would have appreciated a quick " Hi, I'll be with you in a minute" greeting. It was a small thing, but it jarred with the rest of my experience, which was just wonderful.

  • The provider was very attentive, knowledgeable, and kind in their approach to the care that was provided to me in the office. My only concern is that she had several questions about my health over the course of the past six to 12 months, which were readily available in my EPIC MyChart. I had a hard time recalling some of the details, and I think that the advantage of the MyChart is that she can look up what medicines I've been on recently, for example, to treat my current condition. So hopefully in the future, the provider will have an opportunity to access those records in MyChart, rather than expecting me to recall.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
