Annual Fund donor Joyce Amaral manages the operations of all three of Southcoast’s gift shops. She is known for her beaming smile and for her willingness to lend a listening ear. A longtime Southcoast employee of 39 years, she has made a positive impression on so many!

Our gift shop visitors are often faced with so much uncertainty as they browse for the perfect gift for a loved one receiving care. No matter the obstacles they are facing, they can be sure that one of our amazing gift shop staff and volunteers will greet them. If they are lucky, they’ll meet Joyce!

“Everybody has a story to be told,” Joyce says. “Sometimes you will look at someone and think everything is great – but you didn’t know that their heart is hurting. There is no charge to being kind – it is free.”

In addition to Joyce’s role as an employee and a volunteer through the Auxiliary, Joyce has given back to the Southcoast Health Annual Fund for 25 consecutive years!

“I have worked here for a very long time. I have enjoyed my years,” Joyce says. “I truly love the people I work with, and it’s just in my heart to give back.”
