FALL RIVER, Mass. — Southcoast Health announced today that the Auxiliary of Charlton Memorial Hospital recently donated $117,000 as part of its five year $500,000 pledge to the Harold and Virginia Lash Heart and Vascular Center at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.
Funds from the pledge will assist in reimbursing capital expenses used to build the Lash Center. The balance of the pledge after this second installment is $248,000.
At their annual donor luncheon held on October 26 at Agoro’s Pizza Bar & Grill in Somerset, the Auxiliary President Paula Raposa presented the check to Agatha St. Amour, Auxiliary Liaison.
“The Auxiliary is always pleased to help Southcoast Health provide state of the art healthcare to Charlton Memorial Hospital and its patients,” said Raposa.
Speakers for the luncheon program included Dr. Sarah A. Bernier, Emergency Department physician at Charlton; Captain Joseph Cabral, Fall River Police Department; and Nancy Paull, Executive Director of STARR. The topic of the program was the opioid crisis that is affecting our communities.
