About Emily Rochac Argueta

Emily Rochac Argueta, PA-C, earned her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant studies at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Emily also holds a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from the State University of New York at Albany and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. She is a member of the Rhode Island Academy of Physician Assistants, and the American Association of Physician Assistants.

Emily’s philosophy of care is rooted in teamwork. She believes that when all teams share content, resources, and strategies, the patient is best served. Additionally, she is greatly influenced by the importance of language services within the medical field. As a bilingual provider, she is convinced that hearing a patient’s history in their own language is a powerful vehicle that helps create a bridge between patient and provider. Emily also believes that a patient is an integral part of any care team. By validating the patient’s symptoms and concerns, she contends, the patient is helped along in the healing process.

Outside of work, Emily is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking and exploring Rhode Island’s outdoor spaces with her family. She has hiked 46 high peaks in New York’s Adirondack Mountains and walks often through Rhode Island’s many parks and nature trails. In addition, she is an avid runner, having run the Newport Half Marathon during the past few years. She is also committed to environmental advocacy. Within her hometown community of Lincoln, Rhode Island, Emily serves as Conservation Commissioner where she works to restore and protect Lincoln’s natural areas, open spaces, wetlands and waterways.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
