About Ahmet Burakgazi
Dr. Burakgazi earned his medical degree at the Hacettepe University School of Medicine Ankara, Turkey. He then completed his neurology residency and Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at George Washington University, School of Medicine in Washington DC. Before joining Southcoast, Dr. Burakgazi served as a staff neurologist at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. He has been distinguished as an associate professor of neurology at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
Dr. Burakgazi’s extensive clinical experience has helped him to become an expert in the region on treating and managing a broad spectrum of neurological disorders. When treating patients, he takes pride in using the latest advancements in technology as well as building relationships by listening and keeping all communication channels open at all times.
Dr. Burakgazi is a member of the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the Peripheral Nerve Society, the American Academy of Neurology and the Turkish Medical Association.
He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His clinical interests include neuromuscular disorders, Peripheral nerve disease, Myasthenia Gravis, Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS), Muscular dystrophy, Radiculopathy and General Neurology.
When not traveling to different parts of the world with his wife, Dr. Burakgazi enjoys reading and watching movies.
