Incontinence Products
Research has shown that urinary incontinence (UI) is associated with substantial routine costs. Women with severe incontinence pay about $900 per year out-of-pocket for routine incontinence care. Most of this money is spent on pads and diapers rather than actual treatment for incontinence.
The increase in sales of so-called “adult diapers” and incontinence pads is an indicator of the high prevalence of UI. Part of this frequency is attributable to our aging population and a rise in obesity, which increases the incidence of UI. Incontinence is also associated with a lower health-related quality of life.
If you are suffering from urinary incontinence, know that you are not alone. Pelvic floor physical therapy is helpful for improving bladder control and function. Invest in your health and quality of life.
