About Timothy Byon

Timothy Byon, MD earned his medical degree at De La Salle University College of Medicine, Dasmarinas, Cavite, Philippines, and completed his residency in family medicine at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners in Grand Rapids, Mich. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Ca.

He previously practiced at the Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, AFC Urgent Care in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Mercy Health in Grandville, Michigan.

Dr. Byon is certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Physicians.

His interests include promotion of health and wellness and support for community outreach.

The front desk attendant was rude to another customer and rolled her eyes at this person. That should never happen. The check out person told me i could get my blood tested without fasting, i went over the the lab space and waited to be told i need to fast. The doctor was great and so was the nurse.

This was a physical. Which lasted 15 minutes. The nurse asked me what questions I had, she wrote them down. And the Doctor went down the list. A couple of things were not addressed (but I was also seeing a specialist for the issues that were unresolved). I was surprised that bloodwork was not requested or scheduled in the fall (which would have been a year out). My physical consisted of him checking my heart, lungs and ears, and looking at the back of my throat. The rest of the exam was him standing at the other end of the room.

Dr. Bayan is very nice, however, I feel like there was a lack of communication between the doctor and the staff. My understanding from my tele-visit call with him on Wednesday, was that if my test results came back negative for Covid or the Flu, he wanted to see me in person so that he could examine me to see what else could be wrong. That did not happen. My results were sent through MyCart and there was no further communication from Dr. Bayan.

Dr Byon isn't my usual, Dr. He was really nice. Dr Byon ,new right away, wha was making my shins ,ankles and feet, so swollen. It was a medication I was taking for about a month. He seen how swollen they both were and he was Right, I stopped taking the medication and, I have been taking Benadryl and the swelling is starting to go down. Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
