About David Bae

Dr. Bae earned a Master’s Degree in Neurobiology and a Medical Degree from Brown University Medical School.

He completed a residency in Urology at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence where he also completed a research fellowship in Urology and Men’s Health.

Dr. Bae has specialized training in laparoscopic urological surgery including extensive training with the da Vinci robotic system.

He also has particular interest and, advanced training in the use of lasers in prostate surgery, including the latest Green Light XPS laser system for benign prostate enlargement.

Dr. Bae is board certified in Urology.

    Waited 20 minutes in waiting room then 40 min in exam room. Its was certainly not Dr Bae's fault. He was so very good clear and knowledgeable. He was very respectful and completely explained tests and other medical info associated with my urology visit.

    I believe whatever they're doing right, they need to continue that same philosophy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. This was my first time meeting with do tor, because my previous one there was promoted. I'll know over time how thorough he is, but from the start, he was very inquisitive and eager to help and give me some insight.

    I had no problem with the doctor per se. What I did have a problem with was the amount of time that it took before I saw Dr. Bay. I think I was in the waiting room for the better part of an hour before I actually got seen. I believe that you all were pretty jammed that afternoon. I'm not 100% sure, but once I saw the doctor, it went very well.

    Although it took time for use to be seen, I would still return to see Dr. Bae. He answered all our questions and concerns. We did not feel rushed. He explained things to us thoroughly without rushing and in a way that we could understand him. Staffs, including Dr Bae were apologetic for the delay. It's worth the wait for Dr Bae.

    Always timely for regularly scheduled appointment. As far as when calling with a concern of a UTI however I've learned the office is not as responsive with the need to have a prescription called in after getting a lab done. While in pain and discomfort it can be delayed over 8 hours or days and require repeated calls. I've learned it is better to go to urgent care walk in rather than call the office.

    My experience at this facility is always positive. I usually have to wait a bit to see the doctor but it's not an excessive amount of time. Patients of Dr. Bae should understand that he performs office procedures and deals with emergency situations so delays can happen.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
