NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — Southcoast Health announced today that William Rockett, MD, has joined Southcoast Physicians Group as a general surgeon, and will be performing procedures at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Dr. Rockett graduated from Harvard University with a Classics degree before earning his medical degree at Tufts University. He completed both his internship and residency at Boston University.

Dr. Rockett previously worked for Southcoast Health as a Synergy Surgicalist. He also recently served as an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester.

He is a fellow of the American College of Surgery and is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society.

Dr. Rockett volunteers his time to his community working with the drama program at Dover-Sherborn Regional High School.
