Tobey Hospital Guild donates more than $81,000 to help fund expansion of Emergency Department
WAREHAM, Mass. — Southcoast Health announced today that the Tobey Hospital Guild recently donated $81,000 as part of its five year $250,000 pledge to renovate and expand the Emergency Department at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. The balance of the pledge after this second installment is $43,000.
At the annual meeting and 76th birthday of the Tobey Hospital Guild held on September 29 at Rosebrook Event Center in Wareham, Guild President Elaine Meredith presented the check to Southcoast Health Leadership. Guest speakers at the meeting were Dr. David McGinnis, Chair of Tobey Hospital’s Emergency Department; Kevin D. Walsh, Chief of Police in Wareham; and Jeanne Flynn, mother of the late Brian Flynn, who spoke on the opioid crisis that is affecting both the young and adult population in our communities. Guild members, as well as members of the community, attended.
The Tobey Hospital Guild is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to render service to Tobey Hospital, its tax-exempt subsidiaries, its patients and to assist in promoting the health and welfare of the community.
