About Stephanie Lawrence

Dr. Stephanie Lawrence earned her Doctor of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency at University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA. She is a board certified pediatrician and has loved caring for her pediatric patients and seeing them grow. She has 3 young children of her own and appreciates the complexities of caring for children. She is also a board certified internal medicine doctor and believes in providing patient centered and family centered care that addresses every patient and every family’s unique needs.

She has a special interest in caring for Youth with Special Healthcare Needs (YSHCN). She spent 5 years in Ohio working for Ohio State University building a clinic that supported YSHCN as they transitioned to adulthood. Dr. Lawrence cares immensely for her patients and takes the time and energy to make sure each patient feels that. It gives her great satisfaction to help people heal and stay healthy.

When not at work, Dr. Lawrence likes to swim, run and spend time with her family.

Dr Lawrence is amazing. Our son is autistic and has a tough time at the doctors. Dr Lawrence was very patient and got right on the floor with him where he was more comfortable. She even brought a special buzzy device in to help distract him for his vaccinations. She is a gem and we are so grateful to have her for his doctor. We are lucky to have her in the Southcoast community!

I've been going there for 20 years and it changed owners, so things were quite different for me. So I have a hard time getting used to it. But I did really love my doctor, Stephanie Lawrence. She was awesome. She listened to me. She helped me tremendously. And everyone there was very nice. And this visit was really good. Sometimes it's hard to get in, but she made it so easy for me because she knows I need to see her. So she already scheduled me. She's awesome. Very happy.

Yes, number one, I needed to reschedule my appointment because we were not around and you were able to do it in a very timely manner. Number two, I wasn't able to see my regular physician and Dr. Lawrence stepped in and was very attentive just like mine is and I appreciated that with all the questions and attention that I needed.

This provider was really good. She was new to me and she answered my questions. She had patience. She talked in a way that I could understand which is hard for elderly people. They don't understand a lot of big words and things and she took the time to answer everything and what she didn't know she found out. So she was very, very good. The facility was very, very clean. She took the patience and when I needed a return call back to ask a question about my lab they were right there to do that. So I would recommend her as a provider and the facility to anyone.

I have no complaints about the provider. She's excellent, very attentive, listens, no complaints. As far as the office, I find it very hard to get appointments and when you call it's very hard to get answers to questions regarding medications, refills, things like that.

Stephanie listened very well and was very kind she is not my pcp but she seemed knowledgeable about my issues for the most part I would see her again If needed. The staff at the office were very friendly but incredibly disorganized and there was a misunderstanding as to what room I was in and they confused me with another patient. There was also a very long wait time but it was very busy and I understand but it was frustrating. Checking put was a pleasant experience and the receptionists were very helpful.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
