About Hannah Stoops

Dr. Hannah Stoops graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She then furthered her medical expertise, graduating with her Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. Dr. Stoops completed her family medicine residency at Brown University Kent Hospital in Pawtucket, RI before finishing her preventative medicine fellowship at the Univeristy of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA.

Dr. Stoops clinical interests are in adolescent medicine, women’s and reproductive health, and preventive medicine. Her personal philosophy of care is focused on taking the time to listen to patients, individualizing patient care, and partnering with her patients to help improve their chronic health conditions and overall health and wellbeing. Dr. Stoops passion for working with a team, in addition to her fascination with science and the human body inspired her to become a physician.

When not at work, Dr. Stoops enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her mini-Australian Shepherd. She also enjoys thrifting and watching the New England Patriots with her family.

    This was amazing. I call to be seen the same day. Your support staff made it happen. I was nervous about what was going on with me. She helped me to feel safe. When I arrived she remembered me and took good care of me. Upon entering the patient area I was given instructions by the kindness woman on what to do next. This is a run of the mill issue. But the doctor never made me feel unimportant. She is not my regular physician but I felt as if I had been her patient for years. Thank you for taking care of me

    I just wanted to thank Dr. Stoop because I usually see [Name] [Name] but she wasn't available and I was having a very bad problem and Dr. Stoop made me feel very comfortable. She took care of my problems. She assisted me getting into a surgeon the same day so I could get my problem taken care of. She prescribed medicine and she was very, very helpful. And I just wanted to thank her again for everything she did. And all the staff is very, very good at South Coast. All my family goes there.

    This is by far the most caring and attentive Dr I have ever dealt with. The staff is kind and considerate as well. The dr doesn't respond to every situation blaming my BMI and understand that my care requires more then a diet and exercise. She is amazing and in my short time with her I have felt comfortable to talk about things I have never with my past drs.

    I didn't have to wait long in the waiting room. The person who checked me in seemed somewhat disorganized, telling me that there was no record of some of my medical information when it was there. Other than that, the staff was friendly and helpful. Dr. Stoops was great--this was my initial visit with her and I'm very pleased with her attentiveness and thoroughness.

    You gave my 91, 92 in November piece of mind and safety. She's very fragile & it's a great deal of working getting her out the door in a wheelchair to the car and into the doctor's office without some stress so the telecall was a great resolution! Thank you, Dr. Stoops and office staff.

    The only thing would be you need to get larger and better seating in your waiting rooms. Larger bodied do not fit in the current chairs.

    Dr Stoops was fantastic! I did not feel rushed during my appointment. I felt that she listened intently to everything I said, and provided thoughtful in-depth responses. She often followed up on her responses to ensure that I understood completely. It is obvious that she genuinely cares about the well being of her patients and she made me feel comfortable and confident in the guidance she provided to address my concerns. Once we determined that I needed further specialized testing I asked how soon it could be coordinated - Dr Stoops left the office and called all local hospitals until she secured an appointment that very afternoon. I greatly appreciated the extra effort that Dr Stoops demonstrated and am thankful for her commitment to providing outstanding medical care.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
