About Amanda Martin

Amanda Martin, NP graduated Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She then furthered her medical expertise, graduating with her Master of Science degree in Nursing from Simmons University in Boston, MA. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her clinical interests involve all aspects of general urology including kidney stones, overactive bladder and urinary incontinence.

Amanda has worked in the St. Luke’s Hospital operating room since 2014 as a registered nurse, in which her time spent there inspired her to become an Advanced Practice Practitioner. She enjoyed the work in the operating room but welcomed the opportunity to become more involved with the entire patient story and journey.

When not at work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs.

  • Amanda was great. She listened, answered my questions, and was very patient with my anxiety about the procedure.

  • Excellent care from my provider, she reviewed my recent ER visit notes and was able to answer my questions and make a surgical plan for me. The clerical staff was friendly both check in and out. The surgical coordinator called me within minutes of leaving the office. Great team and I thank each of you for taking such good care of me ?

  • Overall everything went well. A little confusion when I checked in d/t answering question about how I wanted to be called. This became my official name - I changed it afterwards. Also, I was unable to update my PCP online and office staff unable. I was told to call Billing as they could change it. I called billing and left a message. I have not received a call back as of yet. Office staff helpful and friendly. NP was excellent.

In a physician's office, she was thorough, she was educated, she explained everything to me, and I was very impressed with her. The nurse practitioner or assistant that brought me into the room and the desk, the checkout desk needed some improvement. They were a little bit not very friendly, and when I was checking out, the woman that checked me out was having problems with the printer, and she was kind of slamming and banging and muttering, and that doesn't really come across well in any office, let alone a doctor's office. Thank you.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
