About Gregory Bormes

Dr. Gregory Bormes graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO. He then furthered his medical expertise, graduating with this Master of Science degree in Physiology from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Bormes then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Georgetown University Medical School. Dr. Bormes chose to train at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, IL, where he completed his general surgery Internship, followed by his residency in general surgery and plastic surgery. Dr. Bormes is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Bormes clinical interests include breast reconstruction, breast reduction, excision of skin cancer, reconstruction after Mohs, flap reconstruction of complex wounds, body contouring after bariatric surgery, breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, rhinoplasty, facelifts, eyelid surgery and facial rejuvenation.

His personal philosophy of care is rooted in caring for his patients as a whole person. He strives to heal each patient’s physical ailment to the best of his ability while reducing the emotional stress that each patient may feel. To Dr. Bormes, there is nothing greater than being able to help his patients move toward better health and a sense of wholeness.

When not at work, Dr. Bormes enjoys spending time with his wife and their seven beautiful children. In addition, he enjoys sailing, hiking, reading, woodworking and traveling to new places.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
